LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30 1984) was an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James is widely regarded as one of the best basketball players and is frequently called Michael Jordan when discussing the most popular basketball player. James is the winner of four NBA Championships and the four NBA MVP Awards, four NBA Finals MVP Awards and three All-Star MVP Awards. He is also the proud owner of two Olympic Gold Medals. James holds the record for the highest score of points in the post-season, second best all-time score, and the 7th the most assists in his career. He was named as an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times, and was named on the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. James has played in the ten NBA Finals the third most ever, including eight times in a row between 2011 and 2018. James was selected to be a member of the NHL75th Anniversary Team. And in 2022, he became only the third NBA player to ever score more than 10,000 career points. James played at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in Akron Ohio. The national media celebrated James as an NBA star. In 2003 his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers took him first during the NBA draft as a pro-to-prep. In 2004, he was named NBA Rookie. He quickly was one of the league's best athletes, winning the NBA MVP award in 2009 and the year 2010. After failing to win the championship Cleveland James left in 2010 by way of a free-agent to become a member of Miami Heat. Miami Heat this was announced on television in the special The Decision and is among the most controversial free agent decisions throughout sports history.
